At the end of this IOSH Managing Safely training, you will be able to:

Program Overview

Day 1

  1. Introduction to workplace safety management
    • Ethical, legal, and financial reasons
    • Responsibilities and obligations of managers
  2. Risk assessment
    • Definitions: hazard, dangerous, event, risk
    • Probability and consequence
    • Risk assessment process and system
    • Benefits of risk assessment
    • Practical work: identify hazards, assess and manage risks

Day 2

  1. Risk management
    • “Reasonably practicable” principle
    • Risk matrix evaluation
    • Hierarchy of control measures
    • Impact of controls on incidents
    • Residual risk
  2. Understanding responsibilities
    • Legal requirements for worker protection
    • “Reasonably foreseeable” risks
    • Knowledge tests: common, sectoral, expert
    • Criminal vs civil law in OHS
    • Sanctions for non‑compliance
    • Sources of legal advice
    • Key elements of an OHS management system
    • Importance of leadership

Day 3

  1. Identification of common hazards
    • Six main hazard categories and classification
    • Frequent workplace hazards, consequences, symptoms, and management
  2. Investigation of accidents and incidents
    • Definitions: incident, accident, near miss
    • Reasons for investigation
    • Benefits of investigations
    • Immediate, underlying, and root causes
    • Post‑incident measures
    • Incident report writing
    • Structured investigation approach

Day 4

  1. Performance evaluation
    • Types of performance indicators
    • Key performance indicators (KPIs)
    • Proactive vs reactive indicators
    • OHS audits: internal and external
    • Audit elements
  2. Risk analysis project exercises
    • Candidates present results and discuss methodology
    • Guidelines for successful risk analysis project

Day 5 – Theoretical Exam

  • 30 multiple‑choice questions (45 minutes)
  • Minimum score: 36/60
  • Remote proctoring via AutoProctor (webcam, screen sharing, quiet space required)

Practical Exam (10 days after Day 5)

  • Workplace risk analysis report (model provided)
  • Minimum score: 23/38
  • Submission by email to examination@occupationalsafetyoffice.com

الشهادة

  • Certificate valid for life, issued within 6–10 days after passing both exams
  • Retake option available in case of failure
